Here are some of the staff who helped the conference work out as a great success. On the far left we have Angelique, then a guy I didn't meet, and in the middle is Dolene. Nora sits on the right end. | Angelique and Nora kindly welcomed me to the conference, and generally took care of arrangements for me. | Delphine Gery and Pascale Diebolt. I believe Pascale was the Italian Language host translator.
Jean-Jacques Girardot, a leading figure in the European Network of Territorial Intelligence, and an inspiring scholar. | This is Jean-Guy Henckel, director of the Laboratory of Social Solidarity Economy. His talk was Fifty proposals for the alternative development affirming the centrality of the human being. | Here Jean-Jacques Girardot and François Silva are on the stage before Dr. Silva gave his talk, Du 20ème siècle au 21ème siècle, vers une transition socio écologique: un changement des valeurs. |
|
Philippe Dumas giving his presentation, "The engaging process as a means to achieve socio-ecological transition: a proposal for the management of water cycle" (large image includes a view of a slide from his presentation). | Philippe Dumas is posing a question after a presentation. I can see Horacio Bozzano and Csilla Filó in the foreground. | The audience at ENTI 2010 in Strasbourg. It seems Guénaël Devillet is in the front row working on a Macintosh laptop, and I see Natale Ammaturo in the second row with his red scarf.
Philippe Woloszyn at the lectern. |
Philippe Woloszyn giving his talk, "Innovation fields from corporate studies to socio-ecological indicators: a point of review." (larger image includes a slide from this presentation) | Philippe Woloszyn standing outside the conference center.

The ENTI 2010 Strasbourg conference gala dinner was held in this restaurant, the Ancienne Douane. |
After the gala dinner, around 11:00 p.m., some of us came here, to the Lanterne tavern, and we remained here until closing time around 1:30 in the morning. | Here I am going into the Brasserie de la Lanterne, where I enjoyed some good conversation in the crowded but friendly atmosphere.
At dinner I sat with Charlene, Pascale, and Tino. Here I am next to Charlene. In some ways it seems to me our faces are similar, as if we were cousins. | Charlene Barbonne, who was the English Language translator host. | Guénaël Devillet (of the Surveys Centre in Economic Geography, Univerité de Liège) and his assistant, who helped with English translations. |
|
Main course at the gala dinner. | Appetizer at the gala dinner. This is a tarte flambée, very much like a thin-crust pizza topped with bacon or ham and onions. | This is a very yummy dessert from the gala dinner. I enjoyed it very much.
A meringe dessert with some chocolate pudding at lunch at the ENTI conference. | The main course for lunch on Wednesday at the ENTI conference. Those patties on the left are potato pancakes. This wasn't my plate, as I just had vegetables and the potato pancakes. | This was a form of salmon lasagne served for lunch on Thursday at the ENTI conference. The huge serving on the plate being carried toward me was my lunch. I think the staff understood that I was an American, and thus I should have a portion three times larger than anyone else.
Tino Toikko at the gala dinner. | Pascale Diebolt at the gala dinner. She had a wonderful sense of humor. | Pascale and Tino were seated across the table from me. |
|
This is I (Eric Hadley-Ives), during the cultural visit to the Alsacian countryside. | Annamaria Rufino and Salomòn González in the Strasbourg Airport. | These are the North American participants at the ENTI conference: Charles-Antoine Bachand (of Quebec, Canada), Eric Hadley-Ives (of Illinois, USA), and Salomòn González-Arellano (of Mexico City) |
