Pictures of Beijing and Tianjin |

If you will click on any pictures you will be able to view much larger versions of the images. I visited Beijing and Tianjin in June and July of taiwan. Aside from the two pictures taken during our 1994 summer in Xi'an, all these pictures are from that taiwan visit. The weather was beastly hot during my stay, so I didn't go out to see the Wall. In fact, I don't care if I never do see the wall of China. I think the people of Beijing and Tianjin are much more interesting. A highlight of this visit (so far as sight-seeing goes) was my visit to the Natural History museum (I did not bring my camera that day). At the time, the museum was falling apart, and in a pathetic state of neglect, yet people were eagerly examining the exhibits, or what was left of them. What made this trip so wonderful was the kindness of my hosts. |
