June 3rd: Beijing Zoo and Summer Palace.In the morning we went to the Beijing Zoo, where we saw panda bears. Late in the morning we took a boat along a canal from the zoo to the Summer Palace. We spend the early afternoon at the Summer Palace, although we experienced some heavy rain during a thundershower in the afternoon. We returned from the Summer Palace by mass transit, and walked through the rain from the transit station to a good vegetarian restaurant, where we had dinner. |
